Privacy Policy
Effective Oct 17, 2026. During this phase we collect email addresses for the newsletter and the paid-plan waitlist, and nothing else.
1. Who is responsible
CancelHound is responsible for the personal information described here. Contact: [email protected].
2. What we collect
- Your email address, when you subscribe to the newsletter or join a Plus or Pro waitlist, along with which list you joined and when.
- Email engagement, such as delivery, bounces, and unsubscribes, which our email provider reports to us.
- Messages you send us, if you write to us.
We do not collect bank or card statements, payment details, or account logins, and we don't sell personal information. This site sets no advertising cookies.
Site analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics
We measure site traffic with Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare says it uses no cookies or other browser storage, such as localStorage, and doesn't fingerprint visitors by IP address, user agent, or other data. Its small script gathers page-level information: the pages viewed, the referring site, aggregate country, device type, browser, and operating system, and page-load timing and performance (Core Web Vitals). We see only totals, never a profile of you. Cloudflare's docs say Web Analytics "does not collect or use your visitors' personal data." See Cloudflare Web Analytics, Data origin and collection, Dimensions, and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy (checked Oct 15, 2026).
3. How we use it
To send the newsletter, send one launch email per waitlist, answer messages, and prevent abuse. Nothing else.
4. Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run CancelHound. Today that means an email-delivery provider, and Cloudflare as our website host and analytics provider. They process data on our behalf. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After an unsubscribe we keep a minimal suppression record so we never email you again.
6. Your choices and rights
Unsubscribe from any email with one click. Ask us to access, correct, or delete your information by email. Depending on your state, you may have further rights under state privacy laws, and we honor such requests regardless of your state.
7. Children
CancelHound is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
8. Later phases
If we launch Plus or Pro, they will read bank or card statements in your browser only. Your statement never leaves your device; we store only the list of subscriptions we detect: for each one, the service name, amount, billing cadence, last and next estimated charge dates, and the statement dates. We'll publish an updated policy and ask for your consent before storing any such list.
9. Changes
We'll update the date above and announce material changes in the newsletter.
